By default, only one account is allowed to logon on one machine. If you have more than one Yahoo! IM account, it is definitely a problem. With Yahoo! Pal, you can log on all of your Yahoo! IM accounts if you want. | ∙ Automatically reply when you are away.
Although you can specify customized status in Yahoo! Messenger, Yahoo! Messenger won’t do auto reply for you when you are away. With Yahoo! Pal, you can specify a customized message as auto reply message, Yahoo! Pal will automatically send it for you when you enable the auto reply function in Yahoo! Pal. You can specify different auto reply messages for different accounts on the same machine.

To protect your conversations, you can define a hotkey for special function. Once this hotkey is pressed, all existing Yahoo! Windows including the system bar icons will be hidden automatically. If your friend sends IM to you when you already hide Yahoo!, the new IM window won’t pop up. Press the hotkey again, all Yahoo! Yahoo! Pal is able to print a random, hopefully interesting, adage or quote. If you used UNIX fortune before, you will have more idea about this function. Yahoo! Pal stores over 16000 quotes and adages. They cover art, computers, cookie, definitions, drugs, education, ethnic, food, fortunes, humorists, kids, law, linuxcookie, literature, love, magic, medicine, men-women, news, people, pets, platitudes, politics, riddles, science, songs-poems, sports, startrek, wisdom, work and miscellaneous. Most of them are inoffensive, and other are offensive. multiple instances of Yahoo! Messenger.
After installing Yahoo Pal, Yahoo Pal will automatically run
after you logon. After Yahoo Pal starts, you can run any number of instances of
Yahoo! Messengers. If you run Yahoo Pal after Yahoo! Messenger, Yahoo Pal will
detect Yahoo! Messenger, and attaches to it by itself. Once Yahoo Pal attaches
to Yahoo! Messengers, you will see a new menu item named “Yahoo Pal”
in all Yahoo! Main windows and IM windows. You can also disable multiple
accounts logon, you can go to go to any Yahoo! Main window, and click the menu Yahoo
Pal -> Preferences, and select the tab “Login”, and uncheck
“Allow multiple accounts logon concurrently”. You can change this
function in any Yahoo! Main window.
Set the hotkey for hiding Yahoo! Messenger windows and System
Bar Icons.
You can go to any Yahoo! Main window, and click the menu Yahoo
Pal -> Preferences, and select the tab “Hide”. By default, the
hotkey hide function is enabled, and the key sequence is Ctrl + Alt + H. You
can change the key sequence by type the key sequence while selecting the edit
window. You can also disable the hotkey hide function. While you press the
hotkey, all Yahoo! Windows and icons will disappear, and press the hotkey
again, all Yahoo! Windows and icons will appear. Furthermore, new incoming IM
windows will be suppressed while in hide mode. You can change this function in
any Yahoo! Main window.
Set the auto reply message.
You can go to any Yahoo! Main window, and click the menu Yahoo
Pal -> Preferences, and select the tab “Auto Reply”. This
function is unique to any instance of Yahoo! Messenger, and you can set
different auto reply messenger for different Yahoo! Accounts currently you
logged on.
Send quotes and adages to your friend.
In the IM Window, you can click the menu Yahoo Pal ->
Random inoffensive quote or Random offensive quote, Yahoo Pal will
automatically send a quote to your friend depending on your selecting.
Quit Yahoo Pal.
You can
go to any Yahoo! Main window, and click the menu Yahoo Pal -> Exit Yahoo Pal,
the Yahoo Pal program will quit. In the meanwhile, all Yahoo Pal menus will be
